Mahendra Singh Dhoni was born in a Rajput family in Jharkhand's Ranchi. His father's name is Pan Singh and mother Smt. Devaki Devi [3], his native village, Lavi, is in Lambargah block under Almora district of Uttarakhand. Her parents moved to Uttarakhand from Ranchi where her father Mr. Pan Singh started working in the junior management class of Mekon Company. Dhoni has a sister whose name is Jayanti and a brother whose name is Narendra. Earlier Dhoni's hair used to belong, which he now cut because he wanted to look like his favorite actor. Dhoni studied at the Jawahar Vidyalaya Mandir, Shyamali (currently known as JVM, Shyamali, Ranchi), where he showed his good performance in badminton and football, due to which he was elected at the district and club level.
